We are housesitting Jake's P's house while they are away celebrating Cristi's birthday and their 36th wedding anniversary.(Happy Bday and Anniversary btw) We have been really enjoying ourselves.. there is something about being away from our home that feels like a little, in-town, mini vaca of our own. We turned the temp down in their hot tub so that we could bring Charly in with us : )

It was no surprize that she loooved it. Charlotte always enjoys her bathtime and this way Mama and Dadu could both be in playing with her.

Underwater footie photo.

I scored this adorable/reuseable swim diap at Freddies : )

Cowboy has also been enjoying his stay. Everynight before we go to bed I can count on finding here... on John and Cristi's king size bed... just his size : )

Well Mama Bird invited me to be a part of her blog post. For those of you that do not know, this is a HUGE deal. Tara has done such an amazing job with keeping this thing updated with the latest and greatest since Charlotte has been born. I don't know where she finds the time. Between waking up in the night with Charlotte, to taking care of the house and working, Tara is just amazing. Ever since she was a little girl she said all she wanted to do was to have a family, and now that she has one she has blossomed into the most amazing woman I know. She always wakes with a smile on her face and never looks at the negative, laughing and dancing her way through it all. I am truly thankful that I have her not only to call my wife, but the best friend that anyone could ever have. As we journey through this life together I look forward to every moment.

Bird on a wire

This is a picture of Jake slack-lining at our Easter pinic this year. Below is Jake slack-lining in Missoula. You'll notice that not much has changed: he is adorable, has a very "O'le" pose and is kickin' ass : )

Here are some shots of my beautiful sis-in-law on the slackline in Missoula. She looks so at home in the trees.

And then there is me : ) I did more falling than anything but atleast I look commited to those falls! Woah!

Cold Nose. Warm Heart. (with new pic!)

Happy Birthday Cowboy Cash!!! Today is my sweet little fur-baby's 3rd birthday!! I made him a peanut butter/carrot cake frosted with blended cottage cheese and sprinkled with ground beef :) Charlotte gave Cowboy a special little birthday tug on his chiny-chin-chin this morning and he handled it like a pro. I'm so proud of my little guy and amazed that he is already 3!!
Sweet, tiny Cowboy when he first came home : ) That is a golf ball sized tennis ball... awww!

A Tail of Many Tails
Cowboy Cash: (Mini-Weiner-Shit) A glorious mix of miniature pincher, weiner dog and shitzu. Jake got him for me almost 3 years ago and he is my fur baby! He looks like Rod Stewart when his hair is done and like Splinter (The rat-master of The Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles) when he is wet. He keeps up with the big dogs, loves Twizzlers and cuddling and is great with Baby Charlotte.
Lily: (Black Lab) She loves Jake, tennis balls and food; everything else she seems fairly indifferent about. I think Charlotte will be added to the list of things she loves once Charlotte is covered with food and can throw tennis balls : )

Kobe: (Akita) a.k.a Kob-e-Nader, Nader, Ralphie, Budders. We are dogsitting Kobe while his Dad Andrew is working out on the road. He likes ground beef, the dog park and hangin' out under the coffee table. He is a gentle giant and enjoys watching Charlotte when she is in her swing... tender!

Pretty Pretty

Here are some amazing pictures that Ximena took on Easter. The lady has skills! I am so happy that she took these of my girl because I am a complete spaz and didn't take any! Thanks Mena!! My scrapbook would be incomplete without you : )

Crafty little bunny

We had a fantastic "Charlotte's First Easter"! We spent a lovely day in the park with the McCall fam and then enjoyed a nice ham dinner with the Bolins.
Here is a picture of Hunny Bunny in the Easter dress I made her. We had to put long sleeves and pants underneath because you never know what to expect in a Boise spring.
(Mena, if you have any cute pics please email me!)

These last two pics are a little blurry because I took them with my phone. The top one is of the headbands I made for us... matchy but not too matchy-matchy : ) And the bottom is of the rattle toy I made for my girl... very McNugget-esqe but it gets a smile every time!... smiles from Charlotte is what I live for these days!

She must have been wiggling.. my phone cam can't keep up with her : ) Bllluurrr...

The True Baby Einstein

And speaking of genius... we finally got a stash of BumGenius!! They are the greatest! A darling little cloth diaper that is as easy to use as a disposable. The kind we picked (BG 3.0) grow with baby so we won't ever have to buy diapers again! For an investment of about $400 Charlotte's bum will be diapered until she is potty trained and then we pack them away for baby number two... now that's genius!

Kickin' It

Starts out a little slow but then gets movin!
I am not sure that this video gives this spectaular chair all the credit it deserves. It is fantastic! A vibrating, singing, sliding chair with toys and lights... kinda wish they had one in my size ; ) Ximena, this a must-borrow when that little Sweetie is partying out here in world instead of Mama's tummy... for now I am sure your bladder is fun enough to kick : )

Hokey Pokey

Charly got her first shot last week. After a lot of research we decided that a delayed/alternative vaccination schedule was the right for us. We have been able to pick the brand of vaccines she gets and are able to see the ingredients of each. Our doctor has been great to work with us and Dr. Sis-in-law Celeste (the neurotoxicoligist) has answered some of our questions too. We are not total hippies she will be fully vaccinated but I am feeling really good about our decision to spread them out a little bit. She only cried for a few seconds and then she slept for 6 hours!!.. If only we were able to vaccinate at 10pm I could get a great night of rest ; )

Snow Bunny

Yesterday was Charlotte's first ski trip! Jake and I met and fell in love at Bogus and really enjoy winter sports together. It was so nice to share something we love to do with our beautiful daughter. Even though it was just two runs down Coach it felt great to be back on my board. Jake loooooved skiing with his girl and said that she was making her sweet little noises on the way down.

Fun for the whole family!
On our way up...On our way down.
Daddy has been wanting to bring Baby skiing since the day we found out we were pregnant... maybe before!

Charlotte's entourage : )

Our day was filled with family, fun, lots of sunshine, lots of sunscreen and another first with our baby girl!!

We are THOSE people

Last night Jake and I brought 13 week old Charlotte to the movie theater. I am sure all the other movie-goers cringed at the sight of the car seat but much to their surprise she didn't make a peep! She is such a dream baby!
Here is why I call us those people:
*The fact alone that we brought a newborn to the theater
*The fact the I breastfed her multiple times during the movie.
*Probably the biggest 'those people' offense was when I had to rinse out her cloth diaper in the sink... I did use the private room so at least there were no witnesses : )
All in all movie night was a huge success! We are already planning on a sequel. I figure that our window of opportunity to bring Charly along is small and she will let us know loud and clear when it has closed.

My sunshine girl

She makes me happy when skies are gray : )
